Present Yourself with Better Tutor Profile

August 26th, 2008

Finding local students who need help is not always easy. TutorLinker.com is here to help you present yourself as a local tutor to many students but you can improve your chance of connecting by improving your profile.

1. Add a picture - This is obvious but very crucial. Tutors with pictures tend to get a lot more hits than tutors without pictures. Choose a picture with your face rather than some random picture.

2. Try to fill out every detail carefully - Please take time to fill out every field applicable. Remember this can be your first meeting with student. Students/Parents want to get as much information as possible before contacting you. TutorLinker.com’s new database structure let you input every detail students want to know such as degrees, subjects, language you speak and etc.

3. Language in Subject is different than Language you speak! - If you want to teach Italian, you must add them in subject category(either in languages or high school AP category). This tells student you are capable of teaching such language. If you can teach a subject(e.g. chemistry) in Italian, you must add Italian in Languages section. It is little tricky so be careful.

4. Timetable - Try to be as precise as possible. This helps students/parents in planning. In many cases, time can play a big factor for students to hire a tutor. Many tutors are not taking advantage of this feature, so take your time to tell students about your schedule.

After all, remember to activate your profile by subscribing a payment plan. For limited time, you will get a free month of advertising. You won’t get charged anything until your trial period is over so feel free to subscribe and enjoy your free trial month!
